I recently designed the logo for an online English language school in Belgium. A bit random you might think, but the school is run by a good friend living in Brussels.
The design process reminded me of a time when this friend and I copied the logos of our favourite bands onto our schoolbooks. A personal favourite of mine was the iconic Roger Dean design for prog rock group Yes. Designed on a whim during a train ride to Brighton. Roger didn’t even know whether the band would commission him to design the next album cover let alone be interested in a logo.
The band loved the logo and so did I, and thus began my love of art and design. The rest is history.
