In 2020 I submitted the attached photograph of a silvereye on a red hot poker to Australian Photography magazine’s Photographer of the year. I was pleased to hear today that the picture was awarded a highly commended certificate.
I recently designed the logo for an online English language school in Belgium. A bit random you might think, but the school is run by a good friend living in Brussels. The design process reminded me of a time when this friend and I copied the logos of our favourite bands onto our schoolbooks. A
Pen and ink is one of my favourite mediums to work with. While other illustrators and artists can apply the pen directly to fresh paper my preference is to draw in pencil first and then to overlay ink wherever I feel the image requires it. The visible pencil marks are gently removed once the ink
